Programs - Key Initiatives of NFMHEducating: A primary role of The National Foundation for Mental Health is educating health professionals about advances from investments in biomedical and behavioral science research. NFMH will sponsor conferences, workshops and other activities to communicate about scientific breakthroughs, promote health science transfer, and foster related policy development.Information: It is essential that Congress, the Administration, and the public understand the value of The National Foundation for Mental Health (NIMH) and its research portfolio. NFMH will inform and educate policymakers and the public on the activities of the NIMH and, when requested, will provide expert testimony on the importance of public support for the NIMH. Building Partnerships: The National Foundation for Mental Health reaches out to a broad array of partners - both nationally and internationally. We sponsor events, which bring together individuals and organizations from the public, and private sectors, including industry, academia and government agencies. Celebrating the Past, Envisioning the Future: The National Foundation for Mental Health sponsors historical activities to record accomplishments associated with research investment by the NIMH. In addition, we underwrite exhibitions and special events aimed at communicating these achievements to our partners. We also assist the Institute in facilitating communication with its various constituencies as it engages in continuous strategic planning efforts for the future. Honoring Excellence: Each year The National Foundation for Mental Health will honor distinguished leaders in the scientific enterprise related to the Institute's mission. |
